Introduction
Belconnen Arts Centre Incorporated has been specifically established to manage and operate Belconnen Arts Centre.
It is a not for profit community association with a membership comprising organisations and businesses having an interest in Belconnen.
Our Vision
- To be the centre of arts and cultural activity in Belconnen.
Our Core Objectives
- To create a welcoming space for engagement in arts and cultural activity.
- To support artists and the development of the arts in Belconnen.
Key Goals & Strategies
- To develop programs and community arts engagement by offering opportunities for all people to participate in creative activity
- Provide, promote and manage a program of arts activities in Belconnen as part of an Australian Capital Territory wide network of arts facilities. These to include; community arts, moveable cultural heritage, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, film and video production, visual arts and crafts, performing arts, dance, music, literature, digital and new media arts and any other creative forms of expression as they arise
- To encourage and assist self-management of arts and cultural practice among emerging and professional individual artists and arts organisations and businesses
- To develop audiences for arts and cultural development initiatives
- To work in partnership with other territory, regional and national arts, educational and allied organisations, businesses and services
- Strengthen connections with other arts and cultural networks.
- To contribute to and enliven the Belconnen Town Centre
- To manage a sustainable arts organisation
- Manage and operate the premises known as Belconnen Arts Centre, 118 Emu Bank, Belconnen under a Licence from the ACT Government
- Sub-licence space to other interested parties
