Belco Bizarre - Celebrating Belconnen Arts Centre's First Birthday

3 - 26 September 2010

Celebrating the first anniversary of Belconnen Arts Centre, Belco Bizarre is an invitation for everyone in the area to create and exhibit new artwork in any medium that shows us something special, unusual, funny, crazy or simply different about life, Belconnen and our community.

This celebration is accompanied by a rich program of community events for all to enjoy:

BELCO BAZAAR ART & DESIGN MARKET
Saturday 4 September > 12:00–5:00pm
A selection of unique arts and crafts will be on offer at this weird and wonderful market, showcasing environmentally-friendly, cutting-edge art and design from local and regional producers. For more information, click here.

A MIDSPRING NIGHT'S EVE — ACT Filmmakers’ Network
Sunday 5 September > 6:00pm
This collection of local short films has something new for everyone to enjoy, as the welcome springtime sun sets over Lake Ginninderra.

SPRING ARTISTS’ FORUM – CREATIVE CATALYSTS
Saturday 11 September > 2:00pm
The first in our series of professional artists forums, we look at ways of creative development through cross-artform collaboration and artistic residency. For more information, click here.

DANCE KALEIDOSCOPE
Sunday 12 September > 2:00pm

How to get to Belconnen Arts Centre:

  • WHERE ARE WE?
    118 Emu Bank, Belconnen, ACT [Google Maps]
  • OPENING HOURS:
    Tuesday – Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm
    Except for regular classes and special events
  • BUS:
    ACTION [Timetable Information] - 300 series buses to Belconnen, get off at Belconnen Community Bus Station and walk down to the Centre, or Route 45 directly to the Centre.
  • CAR:
    Enter eastern end Emu Bank from either Aikman Drive or Eastern Valley Way, from the western end off Joynton Smith Drive or directly opposite the end of Benjamin Way
  • PARKING:
    Emu Bank, Westfield Belconnen and behind Nature Conservation House [Parking information Adobe PDF | 332kb]
