Kickstart Photo Language Exhibition
presented by Northside Community Service

15 April–2 May 2010

Northside Community Service proudly presents 14 Photo on Canvas pieces, taken and chosen by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth during the KickStart Holiday program over the 2010 Summer holidays. Participants were asked to choose images, out of 200 photos, that captured the Youth Week Theme “Live It Now”.

The images chosen represent peers, families and people experiencing community engagement, new experiences and moments of pure joy! We encourage you to take the time to view this amazing youth-initiated collection.

A Youth Week seeding grant made available by the Youth Coalition, ACT DHCS, DEEWR and Beyond Blue funded the project and covered the costs of stretching the chosen images over canvas. The canvasses will be on display for the next four weeks at both the Belconnen Arts Centre and the National Museum of Australia.
