Community desire for an arts centre in Belconnen has been long standing. The aim of this exhibition is to bring together excellent work from artists working in the Belconnen area, to make visible some of the dimensions of this diverse and highly motivated artistic community, and to give viewers a taste of upcoming exhibitions in the Centre. This exhibition provides an introduction to the ongoing reality that is art from the Belconnen area. It will be succeeded by annual exhibitions showcasing further artists and their work at that time. Media represented in the Surfacing exhibition include drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, paper making, ceramics, digital art, metal sculpture, fibre, stencil art and video.
