Ginninderra is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘throwing out little rays of light — sparkling’. The artist has found the Lake a source of not only inspiring images but also of tools and equipment for making the images. Contemplating the connection of making the images of the Lake and using found materials to make tools such as reed pens and natural pigments, Tilly found this a special way to explore and express her artistic response to the environment.
