Drawing Out the Detail — Charcoal and Pastel Drawing
with Jacqui Malins
Saturday 8 September > 2:00–5:00pm
Zoom in on the details in nature and the environment and turn them into high-impact drawings in charcoal and pastels. Jacqui will take you through her approach to constructing large format drawings, focusing on a range of texture and marks, and using contrast to increase impact.
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FROM PARTICIPANT:
- Pictures for inspiration – may be from nature, but not necessarily.
- 1-2 sheets watercolour paper, A2 size. Medium or rough texture (cold pressed or ‘not’).
- Pastels in your desired range of colours (including white), plus compressed charcoal and soft willow charcoal.
- Fixative if desired.
Cost > $50 per session, $20 materials or bring your own

Emu Bank, Westfield Belconnen and behind Nature Conservation House, or at the Centre (2 hours only)
