This course led by local printmaker Jo Hollier, provides an introduction into some exciting printmaking methods which can be achieved without the need for a press.
It will allow the participants to build up image making skills through the use of simple print making techniques, such as collograph, monotype printing, relief printing and methods of image release onto paper and fabric.
Printing plates will be made using materials easily and cheaply available and printed by hand using non toxic waterbased inks. Participants will be printing on various papers to explore the properties of each type of paper used.
This course provides the participants with a solid introduction into the art of printmaking and allows for exploration and experimentation using a more contemporary approach to traditional methods.
