Artists in Conversation > Feast: Indulgence, Savouring and Delectation

Feast: Indulgence, Savouring and Delectation is an exhibition by artists from Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts (IAVA). The word feast has connotations of plenty in many forms, from the gustatory to the aesthetic. Artists from IAVA have played with the theme and produced a sumptuous offering of colour, form and delight. Artworks range from visions of Antarctic cathedrals of light to quirky explorations of inner realities. It’s a tasty mix of paintings, drawings and sculptural works.
Join with the artists as they discuss their work and world of professional practice. All welcome.

Melissa Ritchie is a 2016 Archibald finalist who predominately works in portraiture. Her paintings are vivid, graphic and often use a sense of irony to create quirky twists on the traditional portrait.

Moira Kirkwood is the coordinator of Feast. She’s a painter who tries to get her ego out of the way so that something interesting can happen on the canvas. She will discuss the show more generally.
