Fly Me to the Moon

Combining mid-twentieth century graphics with modernist shapes and colourful backgrounds, these collages look at the use of animals in rocket experiments and space exploration in the 1950s and ’60s. They evoke feelings of whimsy and nostalgia, but there is a deeper meaning in how we frame our relationship with animals and exploit their cuteness in advertising and propaganda.
