Information for stall holders >

Thank you for your interest in hiring a Market Stall for the Mid-Winter Market at Belconnen Arts Centre Inc. (BAC). We hope to receive your application to participate as a local designer, creator or producer of environmentally-friendly art, design, food or wine products.
We have spaces for about 20 Stallholders inside the Foyer, and each one will be allocated a 2 x 3 metre space and will be provided with one table approximately 2 x 1 metre, and 2 chairs, to display their goods. There are 6 screens, 1.8 metres high x 0.9 metres wide, available on a priority needs basis.  Additional tables are also available if required.  The cost of each stall space will be $90. Also this may be a shared Stall with another Stallholder as organised by you, for a fee of $45 each.

Additionally we are introducing a new option – Stallholders may wish to hire an outside space on the red gravel area on the eastern side of the Arts Centre. You will need to provide all your own equipment, tables, chairs, tents, etc. This will be suitable for Stallholders offering goods and products requiring additional space, and more suited to an outdoor setting. This space costs $60 and may also be shared at a fee of $30 each.

Criteria for selection of appropriate Stallholders are that the artwork, craft, design, food or wine products fulfil four or more of the following conditions, and we ask you to observe these carefully:

  • they have been produced from natural or environmentally-friendly materials, including recycled materials;
  • the goods have been produced using low environmental-impact processes;
  • the work is created, designed, grown or/and made in the ACT or surrounding region;
  • the goods are cutting-edge, showing high quality craftsmanship;
  • that the artwork or produce to be presented and sold is designed and/or handmade by you/your organisation and is not copied or reproduced imagery or a finished article from any other source;
  • and that the goods are relevant to the theme of celebrating the Winter Season.

If your work satisfies these criteria, and you are interested in being considered as a Stallholder, please complete the following Expression of Interest form (EOI) and return.  It is important that you address the criteria and provide good quality example images in digital format of at least 1 megabyte, of previous work or work similar to what you propose to sell at the market.  Closing date for your application is MONDAY APRIL 11. Please note that applications received after this date may not be considered.  You are encouraged to apply early, as the previous market was fully booked. Incomplete applications will not be considered – please ensure all boxes are completed.
All applications will be reviewed by a Selection Panel, and the final decisions will be communicated in the week following April 11. Final Stallholder selection is at the discretion of BAC.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on 6173 3300 if you have any further questions. We very much look forward to receiving your Winter Market application.
