The artists’ friendship dates back to the late 1970s and their involvement in the University of Sydney's Tin Sheds Women's Art Group. Their recent reconnection has resulted in this collaborative exhibition; both work with textiles and found objects. Minchin's works comments on life in the outback landscape of Far West NSW, whilst Bruen tells stories about the Canberra region's scribbly gums whose bark, marked with the mysterious script created by insect larvae, references a love of drawing that both artists share.
