Studio Masterclass: Getting Started with Collage
With Julie Bradley
Saturday and Sunday > 10am-4pm
4 & 5 May 2019
This two day workshop investigating collage techniques will draw on the styles and works of artists such as Matisse and his cutouts, Joseph Cornell and Rosalie Gascoigne and their assemblages, and Max Ernst’s photomontage approach to collage. Workshops will provide an overview into the medium of collage throughout art history and notes on basic collage techniques, and materials will be provided during the workshop with plenty of hands-on experimentation and exercises. Participants will work with a range of materials and papers to create a series of small collages illustrating each of the collage techniques explored.
