Bringing Beauty into Grief
2018 CAPO/BAC Inclusion Award winner Maria Cofinas and Tess Knight invite you to a beautiful, innovative activity.
Maria Cofinas is a visionary artist, incorporating intentional creativity and symbolism into her creative practice. Maria’s approach is accessible to all in the community, no matter what background or experience level, and encourages exploration and experimentation. Tess Knight has been nursing since 1982 and has worked in Intensive Care for 25 years, where she has specialised in care for the dying. Tess is passionate about bringing beauty and innovation to the bed space. She was awarded the Nursing and Midwifery 2017 Clinical Excellence Award for services in end of life care.
Come and create hand-painted watercolour backgrounds, that will be provided to the families of patients at end of life in the ICU at Canberra Hospital. Families will be invited to put a handprint from their loved one onto the painting as a treasured, personalised family keepsake.
There is no charge for this workshop and all ages are welcome. No painting experience is necessary. Feel free to drop in at any time and stay for as long as you desire.
