Sunday Session: Discovering Drypoint
With Cecile Galiazzo
Sunday 4 August 2019 > 1-3pm
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the technique of drypoint. This medium allows for the direct transference of lineal drawings to a multiple printing process. A base plate can also be used in combination with line and stencils to build up the image. You’re encouraged to bring journals, drawings or sketches that you might like to translate using this printing technique. You can expect to complete prints and gain an understanding of composition and how drypoint can be used. This workshop is suitable for all levels.
About Cecile Galiazzo >
Cecile Galiazzo graduated from the ANU School of Art and Design, majoring in printmaking and papermaking. She has facilitated many field trips with artists into the Shoalhaven River environs, which continue to influence and inform her arts practice. More recently she has travelled and taught in the Northern Territory where she was influenced by the expansive desert horizons, red dust and golden skies. Often working directly ‘en plein air’ onto etching or drypoint plates, she also uses photography and text to capture the essence of her surroundings.
All materials will be provided.
Please note, enrolment closes one week prior to the workshop.
