Studio Masterclass: Winter Solstice Ceramics
With Teffany Thiedeman
Saturday 22 June 2019 > 2:30-5:30pm
Cosy up on the shortest day of the year in Teffany Thiedeman’s studio, Hearth, for an afternoon of modelling small clay figures, objects and settings. Get meditative in an inspiring artist workshop; transform your fears and anxieties into hopes and dreams for the second half of the year. All clay pieces will be fired for the participants. The Hearth studio is set in a suburban garden and is populated with many plants, trees and animals. Be warmed by the wood stove and enjoy a mulled wine while you work.
About Teffany Thiedeman >
Teffany Thiedeman has been playing with clay all her life. Art is integrated into her life and work as an educator and Director of Aeon Arts, a not for profit cultural organisation. She graduated from the Australian National University with a baby and a degree in 1995 and has exhibited tenaciously ever since. Her work is hand built and frequently figurative and personal. She has studied bronze casting in Madya Pradesh, India, explored traditional ceramic practices in Oaxaca, Mexico and gazed in amazement at the mosaic work of Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain. Now she has enough ideas to last a couple of lifetimes! Teffany loves working with community art projects, kids and the art curious. She loves to invite people into her home studio to share her garden, materials and ideas.
Please note, enrolment closes one week prior to the masterclass.
