DANCE FOR WELLBEING AT BELCONNEN AND TUGGERANONG ARTS CENTRE
– TASTER ON FRIDAY 22 SEPTEMBER AT BELCONNEN ARTS CENTRE
Dance for All! is the focus of a weekly dance class at both Belconnen and Tuggeranong Arts Centres, designed for adults with physical challenges, who want to keep their body and brain active and healthy, regardless of their mobility, skill, or age.
People who experience Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue, RSI, Arthritis or other various physical challenges, are very welcome to attend, with Carers if required. The class is made up of an hour of gentle exercise to music, and much of it takes place sitting in a circle of chairs.
On Friday 22 September, at BAC, we are offering a complimentary morning tea and information sharing at 11am and a taster class from 12 noon. You are invited to come along and join the fun – all for free!
Commencing the week of 9 October, the classes will then take place during the school terms, at TAC on Wednesdays from 10 – 11, and at BAC on Fridays from 12 – 1. Both arts centres have stunning, fully equipped dance studios, with beautiful views over their adjacent lakes, and are fully accessible.
Funded by ACT Health, the classes are led by a team of very inspiring and well qualified dance practitioners, who are especially passionate about offering quality dance for everyone.
Research is increasingly validating the benefits of dance especially, in maintaining our health, wellbeing, mobility, confidence and thinking skills – all within a friendly and encouraging social setting.
